Boid Web App Testnet

Hello fellow Boiders!
We’re working on a new version of the Boid Web App Here and we need your capable minds to find bugs and propose what would you like to see in the app.

We can offer you Boid Avatar NFTs as rewards if:

  • you find serious bugs that we can fix and implement in the final version
  • you propose new and exciting features that we implement
  • break new smart contracts (biggest rewards  )

Things that you can do now:

  • Create a Boid Account, The easiest way is to use an invite link from an existing Boid User. You can ask for a free invite link in the Telegram or Discord.
  • After you have created your Boid Account and logged in you need to run the Folding@Home client application and use your new Boid ID as the username in the application. Make sure you join the Boid Team or your contributions will not be tracked. The Boid F@H Team ID is 238663. Download F@H here.
  • Double check that your Boid ID is used as the user account in the Folding@Home application and you are on the boid.com team. Allow the application to run on your computer at least a few hours per day. The longer the application runs the more Boid Power you can generate. You can view your current Boid Power on the Accounts page.
  • Track your progress on the team leaderboard. Your account will receive testnet BOID tokens over time based on your Boid Power. The tokens are automatically staked to your account which increases your BOID token earning rate. Active members might receive real BOID tokens based on your testnet earnings.
  • Explore each page to try different functions:
    – You can unstake, delegate, transfer some BOID on the Wallet page.
    – You can purchase some PowerMods with your liquid BOID balancce. PowerMods can give you additional power over time or multiply your exisitng power.
    – You can purchase a Gold account using anchor wallet or directly from an existing Boid account with some BOID balance.
    – You can also customize your account profile (coming soon), upgrade your sponsored account to a gold account by paying the upgrade cost.
    – After you upgrade to a gold account you can purchase invites and generate invite links to share with others, you earn a percentage of the power generated by all accounts you invite. You also get paid when someone you invites pays the account upgrade fee.
    – New features will be added soon so check back often. An automatic faucet will send you some free BOID and Boid Power each day to keep things interesting.

Testnet UI is not even close to the finished product. It’s meant to allow us to test the functionality, nothing else.
You can learn about the new smart contracts HERE

We’re also looking for writers to write stories for the coming BoidVerse. Take a look HERE
Maybe there is an exciting story that you would like to share with everyone…

Found an error -

Also - this is a bit strange when trying to link or log in with an existing account

Make sure the clock on your computer is correct. If you want to login to an existing automatically created account then someone with a testnet key will need to link it for you.

Checked my clock on this one: Not allowing me the reddem function on unstake even after the time indicated.

Also got the time in the future error again - different device (mobile) - Maybe the time drift needs to be a little more lenient (± 30 seconds maybe?

Yes I got this redeemable timer bug too. But eventually you can redeem your Unstaking BOID you just have to wait ( 10 min to an hour?) after the shown time.

Clock drift is a real issue -

I set this computers clock Maybe 4 weeks ago because of the issues I was having, and with the troubleshooting it lead to me having to set the time on the box, so the actions on the site would work.

Today, I went to play with the site again

…and I am +6.649 seconds and broken again.

if you wanna you can use time.animus.is as your time server its GPS based

I wrote a VB script for that machine that forces windows to update.

I also can use this if need be.

net stop w32time
w32tm /unregister
w32tm /register
net start w32time
w32tm /resync

This is a messy way to do it, but it works now.
